Is it the Law?
Is it a set of Christian principles?
Is it a book of Theology?
Is it merely history?
Is it simply fine literature?
Or is it what it says it is:
The Bible claims but one author - God -
who it says moved on 40 men at
different times over a 1600 year span to
write His words down. It says therefore
it is God's Word to man. (2 Tim 3:16,2
Pet 1 :21 )
" . . . you received the word of God. . .
not as the word of men but as it is in
truth the word of God. . ." (1 Thes 2:13)
Originally the first section of God's
Word, the Old Covenant that included
the 10 commandments, was a set of
Laws. However no human was ever
able to keep God's Law because of
fleshly weakness, save one - Jesus
Christ. He fulfilled God's Law by leading
a perfect sinless life. This then uniquely
qualified Him to bear upon himself the
sins of the whole human race so that
any person could have access to God
by simply accepting and believing that
Jesus was judged for his sins instead of
him. The instant anyone does he
receives a new heart. In this way access
to Heaven is a free gift that we receive
by faith and is not dependant on our
earning favor with God by the things we
do or don't do.
